Elmer Henry “Harry” Cheseldine, age 82, of Selbyville and formerly of District Heights, MD died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born in Washington, DC and was the son of the late Elmer H. and Elizabeth (Kiplinger) Cheseldine.
Harry served in both the United States Air Force and the United States Navy, retiring from the Navy in 1967 after 20 years of service. After the military, he worked for 20 years for the Prince Georges County School Board as an investigator, retiring in 1991.
He is survived by two sons, Barry R. Cheseldine of Midlothian, VA and Kevin T. Gallagher of Selbyville; a sister, Rosemary J. Marra of Prince Frederick, MD; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren and a very special friend, Peggy Kennedy of Selbyville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy A. Cheseldine and his brother, Donald R. Cheseldine.
A chapel service will be held at 1p.m. on Thursday, July 26 at Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro.
