Harris B. Quillen

Harris B. Quillen, age 90, of Bishopville died on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Capital Healthcare Center in Dover. He was born in Bishop and was the son of the late Peter and Dollie (Lewis) Quillen.

Harris was a carpenter and a true craftsman who enjoyed wood working in his workshop. He also loved the water and was an avid hunter & commercial crabber. During World War II he served in the US Army as a Medic. He was a member of Wilson United Methodist Church in Bishopville and was a life member of the Bishopville Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Q. Steele of Marydel, DE and Donna K. Breasure and her husband Jeff of Felton; four grandchildren, Gary Steele, Dr. Jody S. Williams, Ryan Breasure and Courtney Breasure; two great-grandchildren, Gage and Lauren Williams.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Della C. Quillen in 2011.

A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, July 24 at 1 p.m.at Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro with Chaplain Bea Hickey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Compassionate Care Hospice, 28467 DuPont Blvd., Unit 6, Suite 6, Millsboro, DE 19966 or to Bishopville Vol. Fire Dept., c/o Bank of Ocean City, P.O. Box 3899, Ocean City, MD 21843.
