Joseph J. “Joe” Stafford, Jr., age 65, of Ocean View, DE and Maui, HI and formerly of Gettysburg, PA, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE. Born in Wells Tannery, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Iva B. (Horton) Stafford Sr.

Prior to his retirement, Joe had been a science teacher and directed the Gifted and Talented Program for the Gettysburg Area School District.

He is survived by his wife Virginia C. “Ginny” Stafford; one son, Dr. Joseph "JJ" Stafford and his wife Kristen of Maui, HI; one brother, William Stafford and his wife Carma of Shippensburg, PA; two grandchildren, Emily and Sam Stafford. He is also survived by a niece and nephew, Lindsey and Michael Stafford.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Sunday, July 8 at 2:00 pm at Cashtown Lions Club Park, Route 30 West, Cashtown, PA with Pastor Edward Keyser officiating. For those who are unable to travel to Cashtown, another celebration will be held in the Ocean View area in the fall.
